10 Ways to be inspired when feeling drained by your business

It happens to the best of us. Even the most passionate and dedicated go-getter can become un-inspired, discouraged, uncertain, tired and frustrated when constantly working towards their goals. Especially, when we don’t see the results we hope for happen as quickly as we like. This is normal. I often say, we are humans not machines.

Frustration can lead to defeat. In these moments, tweak what you’re doing and try something a little different until you see progress. This has caused countless of thriving entrepreneurs to take mini breaks from their businesses, when all was needed is some good ole inspiration. I’ve learned that it takes inspired action to move through these pivotal moments. Nowadays, I no longer force it. I’ll quickly take a ride to the beach, a lake, park or treat myself to a massage, seafood or chocolate. Then, I go back at it, feeling renewed and refreshed.

YOU have to do things that INSPIRE YOU. Here are my top 10 ways…. 🙂

  1. Put inspirational pictures in your visual. – Visiting Bali, Thailand and Greece is on my bucket list so any given moment when I’m feeling Blah or stuck I’ll type the hashtag and fall in love with the pictures.
  2. Taking a walk to see beautiful scenery – I live in Sunny Arizona which is filled with beautiful mountain views , palm trees and lakes.
  3. Listening to your music of choice. – Something about John Coltrane inspires me when I’m feeling Stuck.
  4. Getting some re-branding done in your business, new website, tag-line, logo. –Your band should not only inspire others but you too.
  5. Take new headshots – Indulge in your beauty and growth.
  6. Listen to your favorite informational CD – I love the Secret by Rhonda Byrne and the 4 Hour Work Week by Tim Ferris
  7. Keep fresh flowers in your view. I purchase fresh flowers every week; they make me feel so special.
  8. Your favorite art-work in your view. – I love the peace and love Chinese Art in my living room.
  9. Pictures of people that you hold near and dear to your heart, your children. – My children and my mom remind me of why I do what I do…In hopes of leaving a legacy for them.
  10. Frame previous accomplishments and keep them in your view: Seeing my Dream Coach Certificate reminds me of the journey and all the other change agents I met.

What do you do when you feel uninspired and your to-do list is filled with tasks, but you want to take a nap or watch TV? Do you stop believing in yourself? No!! You connect to your Why, push against the resistance/emotion and do what you got to do. If you feel stuck, change your scenery and complete the necessary tasks at hand NO MATTER WHAT; Knowing that your future self will thank you later. Remember, this is something small to giant. None of us are exempt from feeling unmotivated in our businesses from time-to-time. Simply use the power of inspired action to propel forward. You got this.
